Ben started racing karts in 1998, and in 2002 was British Champion in the 4-stroke TKM class. In 2004 he made a part-time switch to cars, finishing 2nd in the Formula Ford 2000 Championships yet still managing 4th in the 2 stroke TKM karts. Now concentrating on cars, Ben is racing the Nitron-owned Exige which has been assembled from scratch by Guy Evans and team at Nitron where he works as a Suspension Technician.  In his first race at Donington in October 2004 he finished 2nd in the Exige with co-driver Guy Evans in the invitation race.

After the success in the mid-engined Exige Ben soon caught the eye of McDoalds Racing, and found himself racing the powerful Porsche 997 Bi Turbo in the Belcar Championship.
