Double
win for Porsche in reader vote for “sport auto” magazine
Stuttgart. Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart,
has once again landed an important public prize for its premium sports
cars. Readers of the well-known monthly magazine “sport auto“ have
voted two Porsche models as the sportiest cars: yesterday evening, the
Porsche Boxster S was named as the best cabriolet in the up to € 80,000
EUR price category and the Porsche 911 GT2 as the best supersports car.
The specialist “sport auto“ magazine has been holding this reader vote
on the subject of “The sportiest cars” since 1980. Porsche has been the
repeated winner of this public prize for 28 years, focusing on driving
dynamics and sportiness.
The magazine, published by the
Verlag Motorpresse Stuttgart, enjoys an excellent reputation for the so
called “Supertest” among sports car aficionados. It subjects sports
cars to the fastest and most stringent test in the industry on the
Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. Because Porsche also considers
the Nordschleife to be an important quality criterion for driving
dynamics, sportiness and chassis set-up in development, Porsche
vehicles regularly achieve the best lap times in their classes. As a
result, “sport auto” editor in chief Horst von Saurma set a new fastest
lap time in the Nordschleife supertest in September 2007 in a Porsche:
at 7:33 minutes, the Porsche 911 GT2 set a new record that still stands
today.
