Porsche
juniors win Cup classification
The season final of
the VLN
Long Distance Championship on one of the world’s most demanding race
tracks ended with a strong performance from Marco Holzer (Germany) and
Martin Ragginger (Austria): At the wheel of a Manthey Racing Porsche
911 GT3 the pair secured victory in the Cup3B class and fifth overall
on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. For both Porsche juniors this
marked their first shared class victory in Europe’s most popular
endurance racing series. On a wet circuit, Marco Holzer and Martin
Ragginger put in an im-maculate drive and held the lead over the entire
four-hour race distance. At times, the two UPS-Porsche-Junior pilots
even ranked third overall.
“That was a fantastic
conclusion to the season. A huge thanks to Porsche and Manthey Rac-ing
for enabling us to gather a lot of crucial experience,” said Marco
Holzer, who recently won the season final of the Porsche Carrera Cup on
the Hockenheimring. Martin Ragginger commented: “Our team put a super
car on the track for us. It’s always a wonderful challenge to drive the
911 GT3 on the Nordschleife.”
