Porsche
still on record-breaking form in Germany
Stuttgart. For the seventh year
in succession, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has
increased its registration figures on its domestic German market.
With 17,747 new registrations in the 2006/2007 fiscal year (July 31),
the Porsche Deutschland GmbH managed to exceed the previous year’s
17.207 units by 3.1 percent: a new personal best.
The largest boost came from the
911 series, which saw an increase of 8.1 percent to 8,437 units
(previous year: 7.806). Demand for the new 911 Turbo was particularly
gratifying. The sporty Cayenne SUV, in turn, registered a three-percent
rise to 4,712 new registrations (previous year: 4,575). This success
was facilitated by the remarkable popularity of the second Cayenne
generation, which was launched with even higher-performance,
low-consumption engines in February 2007. The Boxster and Cayman
models, with mid-mounted engines, scrapped together 4,541 new
registrations (previous year: 4,747), 4.3 percent fewer than in the
previous year.
"We shall hold fast to our
value-oriented growth strategy and continue to offer our customers
alluring products. The successful prelude at this year’s International
Motor Show in Frankfurt, with the four world premieres – the 911 Turbo
Cabriolet, 911 GT2, Cayenne GTS and the special edition Cayman S – has
left me confident that we will set even more records in the current
fiscal year”, says Bernhard Maier, Managing Director of Porsche
Deutschland GmbH.
