Numerous improvements
before it’s even been launched
The
new 911 Turbo Convertible heads for the starting line
Stuttgart. Curtains up for the new 911 Turbo
Convertible: From September 8, 2007, even before the official world
premiere at the International Motor Show, 85 German Porsche Centers
will be exhibiting the 911 Series’ open-top model in their showrooms.
”Although the German market as a whole is in the red in terms of
registrations, Porsche has managed to increase its share by 2.1 percent
in the current calendar year. The many advance orders before the market
launch demonstrate that this new convertible will give our business
another extra boost“, says Bernhard Maier, Managing Director of Porsche
Deutschland GmbH.
The 911 Turbo Convertible will
be powered by a 3.6-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine with biturbo
supercharging and variable turbine geometry (VTG). The engine yields
480bhp (353kW) and 620Nm of torque as of 1,950 revolutions per minute.
The manual version accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in four
seconds, while the Tiptronic S is even faster with 3.8 seconds. Both
versions can reach 310 kilometers per hour and fuel consumption is an
extremely competitive 12.9 liters over 100 kilometers.
In Germany, the 911 Turbo
Convertible costs 150,862 Euros (including VAT).
