18 drivers ready for the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia

18 drivers are registered for the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia 2024, which starts at the former Formula 1 track Scandinavian Raceway on May 3-4. The entry list includes five-time champion Lukas Sundahl, Prince Carl Philip and 2023's two class winners in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, William Siverholm (GT3) and Danish Gustav Krogh (GT4).

The calendar for both the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Porsche Sprint Challenge consists of six races and a total of twelve heats. For the first time since 2011, a race will be held in Denmark, at the FDM Jyllandsringen on June 29-30.

Porsche Sweden increases the total prize money in the Porsche Carrera Cup. The prize pool is 100,000 Euro, of which 50,000 Euro goes to the champion.

Porsche Sweden is also investing in the young (23 years and younger” drivers in the Porsche Carrera Cup and Porsche Sprint Challenge. Under the name Talent Pool 2024, former Formula 3000 champion Björn Wirdheim will project lead the new youth initiative, which will include seven drivers.

Also new for this year is that all cars in both the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Porsche Sprint Challenge must be powered with a newly developed fuel from the special fuel manufacturer Aspen. The environmentally friendly fuel has a 33 percent admixture of fossil-free components and will contribute to both racing series reducing their environmental footprint.

For both championships, a roll-out was arranged at the Gelleråsen Arena on April 23-24. Two of the season's races will take place on that track.
