Absolute Racing to field two Porsche’s in 2026 GT World Challenge Asia

Absolute Racing will field two Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO entries in the 2026 GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS, with two strong Pro-Am line-ups as the team embarks on its fifth season running Porsche machinery in the series.

In the No. 911 Absolute Racing entry, Chinese Am driver Huang Ruohan, a Silver-Am class podium finisher last season, will contest his first full campaign with Porsche, lining up alongside talented Porsche driver Alessandro Ghiretti. The Frenchman, who was crowned the 2025 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup champion, is no stranger to the team, having driven for B-Quik Absolute Racing at the inaugural Michelin 12H Malaysia last December. The car will feature an Almost Real Model Cars livery.

In the No. 918 AAS by Absolute Racing entry, Porsche driver Bastian Buus, who raced with the team at the Bathurst 12 Hour last month, will partner Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak. Thailand’s Bronze-rated driver returns to Absolute Racing after a successful campaign in 2023. Driving the Porsche 911 GT3 R with Absolute Racing, Vutthikorn secured the GT World Challenge Asia Pro-Am title in 2019.

Absolute Racing will campaign the latest Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO (Type 992.2), which features a number of optimisations over its predecessor, including revisions to the suspension and aerodynamics. Updates include the addition of louvers on the upper side of the wheel arches, a Gurney flap on the rear wing, modified rear-axle kinematics and an updated Bosch anti-lock braking system.

Both cars will compete in the highly competitive Pro-Am class.

Team Quotes

Fabien Fior (Team Principal, Absolute Racing)

“We’re very pleased to return to GT World Asia with Porsche and a driver line-up that knows the team well and is highly motivated to deliver strong results. In Ron and Vutti, we have two of the quickest Am drivers in the region, and they will be supported at the start of the season by two of the most promising talents in the Porsche driver pool. After a challenging 2025 campaign, we’re fully focused on bouncing back with the new Porsche 911 GT3 R EVO.”

Huang Ruohan (No.911 Absolute Racing)

“I’m absolutely delighted to be unlocking the brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo for the new season. At the same time, it’s a real honour to be representing Absolute Racing in GT World Challenge Asia for a third consecutive year. The team has many years of experience running Porsche machinery and a huge amount of data behind it. This season also gives me the opportunity to team up with two highly competitive Porsche factory drivers. With the team’s wealth of data and the addition of factory drivers, I’m confident I’ll be able to get up to speed with the new car quickly. Hopefully we can deliver some strong results in the new season.”

Alessandro Ghiretti (No.911 Absolute Racing)

“First of all, I’m really happy to be back in Asia this year for GT World Challenge Asia. It’s a very special place for me. It’s where I won my first single-seater championship, the F4 SEA, back in 2018, and then again the Carrera Cup Asia in 2024. Now, to be racing in GT World Asia in GT3 machinery is something I’m really looking forward to, especially with a team I know well, Absolute Racing. I’ve been working with them for a couple of years now, and we also raced together in Malaysia at the 12 Hours, which has helped me prepare for what’s coming. I’m really excited for this new challenge, can’t wait to get started, and of course I’m aiming for strong results while enjoying every moment out there.”

Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak (No.918 AAS by Absolute Racing)

“I’m very pleased to be back in the GT World Challenge with Porsche, AAS Motorsport, and Absolute Racing. We’ve enjoyed success together in the past, and while we know the level of competition is extremely high, our objective is to replicate those strong results. I believe that with hard work and strong teamwork, we can fight at the front and achieve some very positive results this season.”

Bastian Buus (No.918 AAS by Absolute Racing)

“This won’t be my first outing with Absolute Racing after starting the season in Bathurst earlier this year, so I’m really looking forward to getting back to it. It’s great to be working again with Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak, as we already know each other from previous seasons. I won’t be present for every round of the championship, but I’m confident we can achieve something strong together and hopefully put Vutti in a position to fight for the overall title. That’s the clear objective for all of us. Now the focus is on making a solid start in Malaysia.”
