Car Collection Motorsport stirs up the top field of the Nürburgring Endurance Series

With a strong performance, "Goroyan RT by Car Collection" was able to stir up the top field of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Successful permit operation of the racing team.

As the longest race of the season in the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Endurance Series, the KW 6h ADAC Ruhr Cup Race is the annual highlight of the popular endurance series, which was able to come up with a particularly strong field of participants this year. Car Collection Motorsport started with two cars. In addition to a Porsche 911 GT3 R, which competed under the "Goroyan RT by Car Collection" banner, the team from Walluf in Hesse fielded a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for permit drivers for the first time.

Porsche contract driver Nico Menzel drove the Porsche 911 GT3 R together with Artur Goroyan and Alex Fontana in the six-hour race. The trio was aiming for a strong result in the race, not only in the SP9 Pro-Am class, but also in the overall standings. Menzel underlined this claim with a lap time of 7:54.903 minutes in qualifying, securing ninth place on the grid.

In the race, Nico Menzel showed a spectacular opening phase, in which he was able to gradually fight his way forward in the strong GT3 field. In particular, a manoeuvre over several corners on the GP circuit caused enthusiasm in the grandstands and before the livestream. Alex Fontana and Artur Goroyan also knew how to convince with fast lap times and a flawless performance. The #4 Porsche was waved off in fourth place after six hours of racing and finished second in the SP9 Pro-Am class.

In the SP10 class, Car Collection Motorsport fielded a reduced-performance Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, which was driven by Alexander Fach, Montego Maassen and Joel Monegro. Monegro completed his permit at the beginning of the year and used the race to gain more experience on the Nordschleife. For Fach and Maassen, it was the first appearance in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The car consistently completed its laps in the six-hour race and finished the race in sixth place in class, leaving the driver trio behind some more powerful GT4 cars. Alexander Fach and Montego Maassen successfully completed their permit assignment and are now also allowed to compete on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with more powerful vehicles.

"Many thanks to the entire team for the strong performance in the six-hour race. Artur, Alex and Nico showed an insanely strong performance throughout the day. In the race, they were able to achieve an incredibly strong fourth place, which is particularly remarkable as Artur and Alex do not have much Nordschleife experience in GT3 cars. This makes us very optimistic for further missions with the Goroyan RT. Our first permit assignment was also very successful. Alex and Monti have successfully completed their permits. Here we are working on being able to build up another pillar of Car Collection Motorsport in the NLS in the future," explains team manager Romina Schmidt.
