Jeff Giassi Claims First Carrera Cup Victory in Porsche Cup Brazil
Jeff Giassi secured his first win in the main class of the Porsche Cup Brazil last Sunday. After previously taking victories in Endurance races, the driver earned his maiden triumph in the Sprint championship of the Carrera Cup, a long-awaited achievement.
Giassi delivered a consistent performance, but the decisive moment came on the restart following a safety car period. Running close behind race leader Matheus Comparatto, he made his move on the straight and completed the overtake under braking into the iconic “S do Senna.” From that point on, he pulled away and controlled the race to the checkered flag.
“The level is extremely high. I had to defend early on and used my pushes at the right time to gain position. On the restart, I executed my strategy perfectly, and after that it was about pushing hard to build a gap,” Giassi said.
