New driver line-up for razoon – more than racing at Monza

razoon – more than racing will be competing in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup at Monza with a new driver line-up.

The second round of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup. The top-flight GT series is heading to the high-speed circuit at Monza, where the second race weekend will take place. 57 GT3 cars will compete in the “Formula 1 of GT racing”.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R from razoon – more than racing will once again compete in the Bronze Cup, but with a completely new driver line-up, after the car impressed with fast lap times at the season opener at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. Georgios Kolovos, Stelios Kolovos and Lenny Ried will take turns at the wheel of the white and red Porsche.

Lenny Ried is regarded as a German talent in endurance racing and will make his debut in a GT3 car at Monza. Ried has previously gained experience in LMP3, the Eurocup 3 and Formula 4.

“I’m absolutely thrilled and very happy about this last-minute opportunity. For me, it’s something special to make my GT3 debut in a Porsche in a championship as competitive as the GT World Challenge Europe. My main goal for the weekend is, first and foremost, to gain as much experience as possible, get used to the car and the standard of the field quickly, and have a clean weekend together with the team,” said Ried ahead of his debut in the razoon team’s Porsche.

The Kolovos father-and-son duo will also be competing in the GT3 category for the first time. Georgios Kolovos is regarded as one of the fastest Bronze drivers in LMP2 and has already competed in the Asian Le Mans Series, the European Le Mans Series and the American IMSA series. His son Stelios will be making his debut in an international race.

“We will be competing at Monza with an interesting trio of drivers. Although our three drivers do not yet have any real GT3 experience in competitive racing, they have already gained experience in a wide variety of motorsport disciplines and have been able to demonstrate their speed there. At Le Castellet, we proved that we can keep up with the pace of the front-runners in our class. Our aim is to drive a solid, error-free race and pick up some points,” said Christoph Huber, GT3 team manager at razoon – more than racing.

The three-hour race of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup at Monza will start on 31 May at 3.30 pm. The three-part qualifying session will take place on Sunday morning. The race can be followed via the official livestream on YouTube, which the SRO is providing in several languages – including German and English. On Saturday, two 90-minute practice sessions will take place on the high-speed circuit just outside Milan; prior to that, the drivers will have several test sessions to familiarise themselves with the track.
