Proton Huber Competition wins 12h Paul Ricard

Proton Huber Competition wins the 12 Hours of Paul Ricard with a Porsche 911 GT3 R – the team's first overall victory in an endurance race.

Proton Huber Competition took part in the 12 Hours of Paul Ricard with a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Jörg Dreisow, Manuel Lauck, rally ace Mark Wallenwein and Porsche contracted driver Klaus Bachler drove the Bavarian team's Porsche 911 GT3 R. The race was the fourth round of the Michelin 24h Series European Series.

Qualifying for the Michelin 12h Paul Ricard was held in three segments. Three drivers had to get into the cockpit of the Porsche. A combined lap time was calculated from the lap times and determined the starting grid. The blue and orange Porsche qualified in fifth place, fourth in the Pro-Am class.

The Porsche quartet delivered a flawless and strong performance in the race. The Porsche team led the race at Le Castellet for a long time. The team from Hofkirchen demonstrated excellent tactics, paving the way for the Porsche team's victory in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Jörg Dreisow, the gentleman driver of the team, also demonstrated his driving skills with a flawless performance at the wheel of the Porsche, which is particularly important in the Creventic organisation's endurance series, as the focus in this series is on amateur drivers.

After twelve hours of racing, the Porsche with start number #73 crossed the finish line in first place. Proton Huber Competition triumphed in southern France with a minimal lead of 3.473 seconds. This is the first victory for Christoph Huber's team in an endurance race.

‘This is our first overall victory in an endurance race. What a race and what a strong performance by all the drivers and the entire team. It was a great race for us! Special thanks go to Jörg Dreisow, who made this dream come true,’ said team boss Christoph Huber after crossing the finish line. ‘We dedicate this success to our late friend Gerhard Freundorfer, who started this project around Jörg and the orange and blue car as team manager in March 2024. Celebrating this triumph now is something very special for all of us.’

The Michelin 24h Series European Series will take place from 26 to 28 September at the 24h Barcelona. The Proton Huber Competition GT3 team's next outing will be at the Michelin Le Mans Cup in Spa-Francorchamps at the end of August.
