The two-month-long break has finally come to an end as the GT Cup Europe revs its engines this weekend, lightning up the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the fifth and penultimate event of 2026. This is a significant round for Ludovico Longoni as he races in front of his home fans.

After a strong first Italian weekend where Longoni claimed a double victory, the 25-year-old Italian driver missed out on the podium at Le Castellet due to external factors. Despite that setback, he managed to hold onto third position in the standing, sitting 22 points off the Championship leader.

“It has been a very long summer break because I have not even done any testing, so I’m looking forward to getting back in the car. Monza is a circuit I know like the back of my hand, because I grew up in and around it. Fortunately, we will be on track both on Thursday and Friday to work on the set-up, so I’m not concerned about the lack of previous testing”.

For his home race, the driver from Carate Brianza will be reunite with Simone Iaquinta, re-forming the duo that took the No.22 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup to two podiums in Spa-Francorchamps, and to a double win at Misano.

Both drivers’ deep knowledge of the Temple of Speed, the absence of any handicap

time to serve in the pit lane and the hundreds of fans expected over the weekend to cheer on the ZRS Motorsport crew, will give them an extra boost to fight for the top spots in the overall standings.

“This weekend Simone Iaquinta and I will reunite, and recreate the Misano duo. The expectations are high, especially because we don’t have to serve the success penalty, as we did at Paul Ricard.

Monza is a circuit that best suits Ferrari and Lamborghini, rather than to our Porsche. Some of them will be on track, but we are not afraid. We will give it everything we’ve got for our fans, our friends, and the sponsors who will come to support us every day”.

A busy schedule is set for Ludovico Longoni and the entire ZRS Motorsport team during this weekend at Monza. Unlike the previous round, the fifth event will start on Thursday with two one-hour private testing sessions, adding to the usual Friday free practices sessions.
