Muller Leads the Way as Porsche One-Make Action Heats Up at Velocitta
Reining endurance champion Marçal Muller is Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil points leader after a strong season opening rounds. As he did in Interlagos a month ago, Muller was dominant in Saturday at Velocitta last weekend. He scored another pole and led all race 1 laps unbothered to score another Grand Chelem with the #544 machine. Than had a solid start Sunday from P6 to finish fourth. He has 100% podium finishing results and heads to Le Mans as the season top scorer.
Race 2 winner Thiago Vivacqua also made it from pole to the podium top step, holding 10 times champion Miguel Paludo with great skills during the final part of the race, as he had less Boost activations and was struggling to keep his rear tires alive.
With a total of 77 drivers in Carrera, Challenge and Trophy grids, round 2 made a new entry list overall record in Brazilian Porsche One-Make Series history.
Both races of the Porshe Sprint Challenge Brasil were won by Enrico Pedrosa. He finished second behind former points leader Daniel Neumann Saturday, but the later had a time penalty after post race analysis. Sunday Pedrosa had to fight Cecilia Rabelo for P2 and took advantage of Caio Castro retiring his machine due to a puncture. The division new points leader is Gerson Campos and they move to Goiânia as the main event in round 3 next month, as the main division will be overseas exporting the cars to Le Mans.
Trophy win was taken by Dennis Ferrer after a solid race in which he started P5. Points leader is still Sergio Laurentys, round 1 winner in Interlagos and third at Velocitta. The entry class also heads to Goiânia for next round.
Carrera Sport division wins were maiden in 2026, with Israel Salmen Saturday and Raijan Mascarello Sunday. Carrera Rookie dominance by Pipo Massa was broken by Marco Billi Saturday and Bruno Campos Sunday.
As for the Challenge grid, with the overall wins, Pedrosa also claimed the Sports top podium places. And Challenge Rookie wins went to Claudio Simão Saturday and Dilson Peres Sunday.
Car Test for Oliver Paludo, Miguel Paludo’s son
Owner of ten Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil titles and record holder in wins (40) and pole positions (19), the #7 Porsche driver Miguel Paludo completed 180 races at the event this weekend at Velocitta.
Yet the weekend held a special moment beyond the cockpit that truly made headlines. Paludo and his wife Patricia witnessed their 14-year-old son, Oliver, take the wheel of a Porsche race car for the very first time.
Oliver has been a familiar face at the event since early childhood and is well-known throughout the paddock. As a youngster, he became something of a legend for zipping through the public areas on his scooter. But nothing quite compares to the laps he completed at Velocitta this weekend.
After honing his skills in karting in the United States and gaining valuable experience in simracing,
Oliver stepped into cars this year. He has competed in regional formula races and now enjoyed his maiden encounter with the Porsche race car.
It is worth noting that this is far from an isolated moment in the more than 20-year history of the Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil. The championship has welcomed numerous second-generation drivers from the same families who have graced the grid over the years.
Post-race ceremony tests
Since the first race at Interlagos, the Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Brasil have been testing a new format for the post-race ceremony: the parc fermé, where the top five finishers go to an area that isolates and enhances the moment and the cars, and the cooldown room, where the drivers react to replays of the race in real time. The goal is to further professionalize the category, aligning it with international standards and thus providing greater visibility for sponsors and partners. Furthermore, a press conference was held with the top 3 PCCB drivers, a format that provides more visibility for sponsors and also more content for the specialized press and social media, so it tends to be repeated more often.
Student visit at Velocitta – Round 02
Maintaining the social commitment that defines some of the values of Porsche Carrera Cup Brasil, we welcomed a group of 30 fourth-grade young students from Mogi Guaçu (Sao Paulo) to the Velocitta round, responding to a warm request from the city's Tourism Department. The visit aimed to provide these young students with an unforgettable experience at the race track, strengthen our ties with the municipality, and foster social inclusion through motorsports. The event was attended by the Secretary of Communication and a local diplomat dedicated to advancing social initiatives in the city.
