Highly talented drivers strengthen Proton Competition at the Nürburgring

The seventh race weekend of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will take place at the Nürburgring from 14 to 16 August. Lukas Sundahl and Milan Marczak will join Proton Competition in the Eifel.

Due to a clash of dates with the Scandinavian Porsche Carrera Cup, Daniel Ros and Gustav Bergström will be unable to compete at the Nürburgring event. They will be replaced by Lukas Sundahl and Milan Marczak, who will bring a high level of driving skill to the Hofkirchen-based team’s line-up.

Lukas Sundahl has won the Scandinavian Carrera Cup six times to date, making him one of the most successful Porsche one-make series drivers. At the Nürburgring, he will replace Daniel Ros in the team’s line-up. The Polish driver Milan Marczak will replace Bergström in the Proton Competition team. Last winter, Marczak was crowned champion in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe and currently leads the championship in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, where he won the rookies’ classification last year. 

“We are delighted to welcome Milan and Lukas, two exceptionally talented and fast drivers, to our team. To me, Milan is one of the greatest talents in the Porsche one-make series. Furthermore, Lukas’s six titles in Scandinavia are very impressive. Both bring a wealth of experience to the team,” said Michael Dirsch, who heads up Proton Competition’s programme in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.

Ahead of the event in the Eifel, Proton Competition leads the team standings by a margin of 59 points. Furthermore, the talented South African Keagan Masters leads the drivers’ championship for the team with a 14-point lead. Last year’s champion, Robert de Haan, will make another guest start for the team at the Nürburgring. Rounding off the team’s line-up at the historic circuit is Dylan Yip.
