Podium Coffee to fuel Porsche race weekends in Great Britain

Podium Coffee is the new coffee partner for Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Sprint Challenge GB for 2024. The specialty Berkshire-based roastery – which runs the Podium Café in Newbury – will provide coffee to the Porsche paddock throughout the coming season. As coffee partner, its sustainably sourced coffee will be available on the 10 race weekends in the new 30 x 38-metre Porsche hospitality centre, ‘The Clubhaus’.

Signalling the start of the partnership, Podium Place hosted a special ‘Cars & Coffee Breakfast Club’ event on Saturday 6 April, dedicated to Porsche Motorsport. The unique occasion marked the first official engagement for Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2024 / 2025 Junior, James Wallis, who succeeds Adam Smalley in the role.

Visitors were able to meet James as he took part in a live interview with popular automotive YouTuber and Michelin UK ambassador Joe Achilles. Following the engaging one-to-one discussion, audience members were given the opportunity to participate, posing their own questions to James and gaining further insight into his motorsport journey, his new role with Porsche, and the hierarchy of Porsche Motorsport activities around the world.

During the intimate one-hour long discussion, the 2024 / 2025 Junior was also able to communicate the challenges of driving the 911 GT3 Cup, and to establish realistic expectations and goals for his debut year. The 18-year old also took time to explain the intricacies of the Michelin slick and grooved wet weather racing tyres, and the structure of the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid which enables professional and amateur drivers to achieve their dreams on the racetrack.

At the event, a special display featured the 510 PS Porsche ‘Type 992’ 911 GT3 Cup and the new 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, joined by this season’s Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Safety Car.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2024 / 2025 Junior James Wallis, said: “The opportunity to represent Porsche at events like the Podium Place Breakfast Club is a dream come true for me. Greeting fans, answering their questions about my role with Porsche and showing them around the 911 GT3 Cup car has got me even more excited for the start of the new racing season – which is just around the corner now.”

James MacNaughton, Manager, Motorsport Porsche Cars GB, said: “We are delighted to welcome Podium Coffee to the Porsche paddock. The arrival of a new coffee partner coincides with the debut of our impressive new Clubhaus hospitality facility, set to welcome Porsche Centre guests during this season.

“The Breakfast Club at Podium Place was a great way to mark the start of our relationship with Podium Coffee, and a perfect debut for our new Junior, James Wallis. James will be representing Porsche at a number of events during his two years as Junior.”

Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Sprint Challenge GB appear exclusively as part of the TOCA package racing in support of the British Touring Car Championship, and on four occasions this season both championships appear on the same weekend. The opening Carrera Cup GB races of the season take place at Donington Park on 27/28 April 2024 with Sprint Challenge GB getting underway in May.
