Jones equals Richards with 31 career wins

Harri Jones has claimed his fifth win for 2026 with a dominant drive in the opening race of round 4 of Porsche Equity-One Carrera Cup Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park.

The win is Jones’ 31st of his career, and now equal third with Jim Richards for most race wins in championship history.

Jones started from second, but swept around the outside at turn one to claim the race lead.

He built up a three second lead before a safety was called at half race distance when Pro-Am championship leader Jacque Jarjo spun at turn five and couldn’t get the car restarted.

Jones was challenged on the restart when David Russell tried to out-brake him into turn one, but couldn’t make the move stick as Jones raced out to a 2.8 second lead by races end.

It proved to be an important win for Jones’ championship aspirations, with rival Clay Osborne pulling into pit lane at the end of the first lap after sustaining damage in a collision.

Russell finished in second with Aaron Love completing the top 3.

Tom Bewley came home fourth after claiming pole earlier, he was just 0.0037 quicker than Jones which was the third tightest pole margin in championship history.

McElrea Racing’s Lachlan Bloxsom secured his second top 5 result of the season in fifth, while Glen Wood, Diesel Thomas, Marco Giltrap, Marcos Flack and Angelo Mouzouris rounded out the top 10.

Rodney Jane collected his first win of the season in Pro-Am, taking the win by 1.9 seconds.

Matt Slavin had his best result of 2026 with a second place, after fending off Andrew Georgiadis in the closing laps.

Matt Belford was fourth in class followed by Stephen Grove.

One final race remains on Sunday over the distance of 45 minutes.

Race start is scheduled for 12:15 (ACST).
