At the season finale in Monza, Looping by CarTech finished its first season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup with a strong fifth place in the team standings. Dawid Chudyk provided a further highlight by being named the season’s best mechanic.

This year’s Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season drew to a close in Monza, Italy – and with it, Looping by CarTech’s debut season in one of the world’s most demanding Porsche one-make series. Alongside regular driver Dirk Schouten, Finnish driver Julla Honkavuori made another start for the team based in Ismaning near Munich.

The season finale on the high-speed circuit at Monza came to a premature end. Following several incidents in the early stages, the race was red-flagged. As the damaged track barriers could not be repaired in time, there was no restart. Dirk Schouten was classified in tenth place, whilst Honkavuori finished in 16th. The Finn had previously been involved in one of the incidents through no fault of his own.

This brought an eventful debut season to a close for the team led by team principal David Prusa. In its very first year, Looping by CarTech managed to establish itself in the highly competitive field of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and make its mark on several occasions. In the team standings, the squad finished the season in a strong fifth place overall. Dirk Schouten finished eleventh in the drivers’ standings.

The Dutchman scored championship points in all eight races of the season and impressed with consistent performances. Schouten achieved his best result of the season with a sixth-place finish in the second round of the championship at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The team also put in a strong showing at the double-header in Zandvoort: in the first race, Schouten finished seventh, before fighting his way up to tenth place in the second race following a convincing comeback.

Mechanic Dawid Chudyk provided another highlight at the season finale. He was honoured at Monza as the best mechanic of this year’s Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season. The honour not only highlights his personal achievement but also the professional work of the entire team during their first season in the championship.

“We look back with pride on our debut season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. It wasn’t always an easy season for us, but we’ve shown that we can establish ourselves in this top-class environment even in our first year. Dirk scored points in every race – which also speaks volumes for the consistency and quality of our work. Next year, we want to build on this foundation and take the next steps. Special congratulations go to Dawid. We’re delighted as a whole team that he’s received this award, and it’s a wonderful recognition of the work carried out behind the scenes,” sums up team principal David Prusa.

For Looping by CarTech, the racing season is not over yet. The season finale of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland is scheduled for the second weekend in October at the Hockenheimring. There, the team aims to round off the motorsport year with two further strong results.
