Porsche sends strongest qualifying duo to Monaco double-header
With the strongest qualifying duo to the highlight of the season: World Champion Pascal Wehrlein and teammate António Félix da Costa have averaged the best grid positions in the Formula E field so far this season.
On the narrow street circuit of Monaco, the starting position is traditionally decisive for the course of the race. The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team travels to the first European E-Prix of the season as the leader of the team standings. In the drivers' standings, da Costa is currently in 2nd place after three podium finishes, with Wehrlein following in 3rd place after the victory in Miami.
Factory team strong in qualifying
Hardly any other place on the calendar rewards a top starting position as much as Monaco. This is one of the strengths of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team this season: with two pole positions, four front row finishes and the most duels won, Porsche has the most successful duo in qualifying. In the average qualifying position, Wehrlein is unofficially in first place with 5.2. Da Costa follows in shared second place with 5.4.
Two races in Monaco for the first time
Formula E will be held in the Principality for the seventh time, for the first time with two races on the same weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Until 2019, the E-Prix took place every two years – on a shortened version of the Circuit de Monaco. Since 2021, the first all-electric racing series has been using Formula 1's 3.337-kilometre Grand Prix connection throughout.
Porsche balance sheet in the Principality
For the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, the fifth round on the Côte d'Azur is imminent. Wehrlein achieved Porsche's best result to date in the previous season with 5th place after starting from pole position. Da Costa, Monaco winner in 2021, showed a strong catch-up race last year after a collision through no fault of his own and finished seventh.

Second use of the "Pit Boost": fast charging with 600 kW
As at the third round of the season in Jeddah, the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric has to pit for a mandatory pit stop in Monaco: During the 34-second Pit Boost, 3.85 kWh of electricity flows into the battery (10%) – innovative fast charging with 600 kW of power. By comparison, the Formula E safety car, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT road-going sports car, charges with up to 320 kW. The CCS (Combined Charging System) charging system symbolises a transfer of technology to series production: the socket and plug of the 99X racing car and the electric Porsche road cars are the same. The CCS combines the option of AC charging with the option of DC charging, thus enabling gentler charging, for example at home, and powerful fast charging on the go.
