Black Sheep Racing Returns Home to Sonoma Raceway

Black Sheep Racing is set to compete this weekend at its home circuit, Sonoma Raceway, for the second round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West season. The team will once again field two entries, continuing with the same driver lineup from the season opener. Laura Ely will compete in the GT3 Masters class, while Dr. David Fabi will represent the team in the GT3 Pro Am category.

Both drivers enter the Sonoma weekend looking to carry forward strong momentum after securing podium finishes in the opening round in California. Competing at their home track provides an added level of confidence and familiarity as the team aims to continue its early-season success.

Driver and Team Owner Ely is looking forward to returning to a circuit the team knows well.

“Racing at Sonoma, as our home track, is always special for the entire team. We had a strong start to the season, and the goal this weekend is to build on that momentum and continue fighting for podium finishes. Track familiarity can be a big advantage here, so we are focused on executing every session and making the most of the opportunity.”

With momentum from the opening round and the advantage of competing at their home circuit, Black Sheep Racing enters Sonoma Raceway aiming to deliver another strong performance in the Porsche Sprint Challenge USA West championship.

The race weekend will begin Thursday with practice sessions, allowing teams to fine-tune their Porsche GT3 machinery ahead of competition. Friday will feature qualifying followed by Race One, while Saturday will conclude the event with the second and final race of the weekend. Fans can watch qualifying and both races live on the YouTube channel of Porsche Motorsport North America throughout the weekend.
