Callum Voisin wins on debut as Porsche Junior
Porsche Carwow Carrera Cup GB 2026 / 2027 Junior, Callum Voisin (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) from Bath won on his championship debut at Donington Park. The new Junior started the opening race of the season on the front row of the grid, and overtook William Jenkins (Team Parker Racing) from Stafford to begin his Porsche career in the best possible way.
Voisin was one of two new winners at the start of the 2026 season. In the weekend’s second race, seasoned campaigner Oliver Jackson (JTR) from Surrey drove to his first overall win. Jackson’s popular result also saw him clinch Pro-Am category glory in both races. Meanwhile, Henry Dawes (Century Motorsport) from Glasgow became the first winner in the Masters category – an evolution of the Am category new for this year.
A star is born as Voisin wins in Pro
Championship returnee Jenkins drove to the first pole position of the year in qualifying, and he led the pack at the start of the opening race of the season. Voisin got an equally good launch from second, while Isaac Phelps (Rosland Gold by Century Motorsport) from Hertfordshire slipped backwards. Sid Smith (Graves Motorsport) from Essex accelerated into third, however, at Old Hairpin, local hero Jack Sherwood (Team Parker Racing) from Leicestershire dived to the inside, and following contact Smith left the circuit as Sherwood continued in third.
After a Safety Car period to allow for the recovery of two stricken cars, Jenkins and Voisin pulled clear. Meanwhile, Sherwood was forced to defend from an attacking Max Coates (Graves Motorsport) from North Yorkshire. On lap 17 Voisin made his move, snatching the lead from Jenkins with a confident and clean pass at Redgate. As Sherwood, Coates and Phelps ran line astern in third, fourth and fifth, Voisin managed to build an impressive gap. The new Junior took the checkered flag to secure victory on his Porsche racing debut, Jenkins was second with Sherwood in third.
After the race, the winner drew the number five ball, reversing the top five grid positions for the weekend’s second encounter. For his incident with Smith, Sherwood was penalised six finishing positions, relegating him down the order and retrospectively promoting Coates to the final podium place. This meant that Pro-Am category driver Jackson would start on pole position for the second race of the Donington Park weekend.
Jackson got a flawless start to lead the second race. At the first corner Phelps challenged before taking a trip through the gravel trap, while Jenkins advanced to second place. Jackson found himself leading Jenkins, Coates and Voisin through the Craner Curves on the opening lap. Smith and newcomer Archie Clark (XQS Team Parker Racing) from Leicestershire soon gained places as they passed Pro-Am’s Stephen Jelley (XQS Team Parker Racing). Clark pressured Smith for sixth overall, and when Smith ran wide at the Roberts chicane, he got ahead.
Coates began to hound Jenkins for second, but soon found himself under attack from Voisin. On lap 17, the Junior saw his chance, overtaking Coates through the Craner Curves to take third. In the closing stages of the race, Sherwood mounted his own challenge on Coates, pinching fourth place from him before the flag. Jackson took overall victory, Jenkins finished second – the top Pro category racer, with Voisin enjoying the second podium of his Porsche racing career.
Jackson tops Pro-Am
Jelley was the leading Pro-Am category driver in qualifying, but Jackson soon moved into the category lead at the start of Round One, with Jelley relegated to second and Jonathan Moore (JTR) from South Yorkshire in third. Further into the opening lap Jacob Tofts (Graves Motorsport) stopped in the gravel trap at McLeans after contact with Masters category driver, Michael Keohane (Century Motorsport) from County Cork, Ireland. Following a Safety Car period, Jackson, Jelley and Moore began a close dice for position, but it was defused when Moore received a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits. At the flag Jackson took victory with Jelley in second, and with his time penalty applied, Moore fell behind Oliver Meadows (Team Parker Racing) from Warwickshire, meaning Meadows achieved a maiden podium result on his championship debut.
Jackson started from reverse grid pole position for Round Two, and he maintained his overall, and category lead, throughout. In the second half of the race a battle for second in the Pro-Am category ignited between Jelley and Tofts, Tofts tried the outside line at McLeans but to no avail, but on lap 15 he navigated ahead as Jelly slipped back down the order. Jackson took overall and category victory, with Tofts in second and Meadows ticking off his second Pro-Am category podium.
Dawes wins twice in Masters
The new Masters category was topped by Keohane in qualifying, but at the start of the weekend’s first race he was involved in an incident with Tofts, ending his race prematurely. Carl Cavers (Century Motorsport) was left battling Dawes for category plaudits. Following the interruption of the Safety Car, Dawes went on the attack, and overtook at the Craner Curves in the final minutes of racing. Dawes and Cavers formed the first Masters category podium.
Dawes led Keohane and Cavers in the early part of Round Two, but Keohane soon made contact with Cavers at the Roberts chicane – Keohane retired to the pit lane. Dawes was clear to take his second category win of the day, joined on the Masters podium by Cavers for a second time.
