Charlie March set to celebrate Goodwood heritage in Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

Team Parker Racing is happy to announce that Charlie March will return to the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB for the full 2021 season, racing in an eye-catching Spitfire-inspired livery.

Having previously raced historic machinery at the Goodwood Revival in 2019, the 26-year-old made his first appearance in modern GTs at Silverstone last November, the final round of the Sprint Challenge’s inaugural season.

The striking look on Charlie’s Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport harks back to the days when the land which now is the home of Goodwood Circuit was known as RAF Westhampnett. Built as a satellite airfield to nearby RAF Tangmere during World War II, the first squadron (No. 602) of Supermarine Spitfires was based there during the Battle of Britain.

Charlie joins Matt Armstrong and two further drivers, to be announced shortly, as part of Team Parker Racing’s four-car line up in this year’s Porsche Sprint Challenge GB. The series is set to begin alongside the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton over the weekend of May 8-9.

“I had such a great time in my one race last year, and Stuart and the team looked after me so well, I thought I’d come back and give it a proper go.

“I’m pretty inexperienced at the modern circuits, so I’m just excited to try them out and learn as we go. Going back to Silverstone will be good as I’ve driven there before but it will all be good learning for the future.

“Josh came down last time to show me through the car and the track, and I’m sure it will be the same this year in terms of support, TPR are very generous with their time. It’s a fantastic team and there’s no place I’d rather be.”
