Healthy points score and strong team work on Sunday in Monaco
The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team scored 19 world championship points in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s second race of the Monaco double-header on Sunday. In wet conditions, António Félix da Costa crossed the finish line fourth and scored an additional point for the fastest lap in the top ten. This is the fifth time out of seven races this season that a Porsche driver has set the fastest race lap. World Champion and teammate Pascal Wehrlein took seventh place. The result rewards the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team after a major rebuild of da Costa’s car following an incident in Saturday’s race. The Portuguese has now moved back up to second in the drivers’ classification.
Andretti Formula E’s Jake Dennis also scored points by finishing ninth, making it three of the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric in the top ten.
The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team continues to lead the teams’ standings.

Comments on the Monaco E-Prix
Florian Modlinger, Director Factory Motorsport Formula E: “We scored valuable points again. This was a very, very tricky day. We had a really tough start to the race because of low grip conditions. Our car started to work from mid-race to the end when we were really fast. We were the quickest cars on track with António at the end of the race setting the fastest lap time in the top ten, and both cars progressing to the end of the race. With António finishing in P4 and Pascal P7, we scored 19 very important points. Overall we had three Porsche in the top nine. It was a pity for Cupra Kiro to score no points despite strong performance especially in qualifying. Big thank you to all of our crew for the clean rebuild over night! Now we will have to work especially on our tyre warm-up.”
Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche factory driver (#1): “It was particularly tricky in the beginning. I started in P10 but quickly went down to P17 just with poor grip as the tyre warm-up was very bad. Once the track started to dry out the pace was really good. We started to progress forwards and finished the race in P7. There’s a trend this weekend that we are struggling with tyre warm-up. We have a lot to analyse and learn so that we can have a good second half of the season.”
António Félix da Costa, Porsche factory driver (#13): “That was one of the most difficult races I have ever done. It was just so hard to drive the cars in these conditions. The grip was so limited and also it was hard adapting to the track as it was drying out. It really tested all of us. I’m happy with P4. I have to thank the whole team for rebuilding the car yesterday after the crash. We had to change the complete car so they were here until 2 a.m. and I am happy to reward them with some good points today. We will work hard and understand where we can do better before Tokyo in two weeks.”
Four Porsche in top seven at Saturday’s Monaco race
World Champion Pascal Wehrlein is now second in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship after finishing sixth on the Monaco street circuit on Saturday. The German factory driver also scored a point for setting the fastest lap of the race in the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric. Andretti Formula E’s Jake Dennis finished third to stand on the podium for the first time this season, the sixth for the 99X Electric in 2024/2025.
Dennis’ Andretti Formula E teammate Nico Müller finished fifth. Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum crossed the line seventh in the Porsche 99X Electric WCG3 to complete the tally of four Porsche drivers in the top seven.
António Félix da Costa is now third in the Drivers’ Championship after an incident on lap nine ended his race.
Comments on the Monaco E-Prix
Florian Modlinger, Director Factory Motorsport Formula E: “It was a tricky day today with the result. António had an incident and was out of the race which means we have to build a completely new car for him because the chassis is damaged. It’s a lot of work for the guys which is tough due to the double-header here at Monaco. Pascal had a good race. He lost a position when he was behind a car that got stuck in the Full Course Yellow limiter during the release. We then had an issue in his pit stop which we need to analyse. It cost us two or three positions. With our strategy and without those problems he would have been good for a podium or even fighting for the win. Overall we showed as a manufacturer that our cars have the performance. Four Porsche in the top seven is a great achievement. Congrats to Jake Dennis for the podium. Tomorrow we will try for better. One parameter could be the weather with a higher risk of rain.”
Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche factory driver (#1): “We finished the race in P6 and got a point for the fastest lap. I’m not super happy with the race to be honest. The pace was there but there were three key moments in the race which cost us a much better result. The first one was going out of the Full Course Yellow and the car ahead of me didn’t accelerate. We had contact and I lost another position. The second one was we had a bad Pit Boost and lost a couple of positions there. Trying to move forward again we had contact with someone trying to overtake us in turn 6 which made us again lose positions. The pace was good but there was so much more in it. Now we focus on tomorrow and we’ll give it everything to have a good day.”
António Félix da Costa, Porsche factory driver (#13): “Today was a very, very tough day for me. We just lacked pace the whole day. I didn’t really feel at home with the car. It was hard to get the balance; it wasn’t where I wanted to be and therefore hard for me to drive the car like it has to be driven. In the race we were doing a good race from P15. I was already into the top ten and we were involved in an accident. It’s just a shame but we get another day tomorrow.”
