Growing up on the racing track in Germany, Ten Voorde’s passion and devotion to motorsport were sparked from his childhood. From 2007- 2012, Ten Voorde had won eight titles in karting series- four of these in Germany, but when Larry Ten Voorde crossed the border to the Netherlands, nobody knew him. When financial reasons stopped the Flying Dutchman from competing in 2013, Ten Voorde’s work at the Zandvoort circuit opened the opportunity for the Dutchman to impress teams through his coaching activities and reignite his racing career by making a comeback in 2016 to win the Porsche Super Sports Cup at the first time of asking.

Four years later and reflecting on highlights of a “tough” but “mega” 2020 season. Ten Voorde spoke about racing for GP Elite and leading the Dutch team to win the 2020 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup driver championship. Reflecting on his teams success and their win at Silverstone where Team GP Elite finished first and second with Larry Ten Voorde and Max Van Splunteren claiming the honours. Ten Voorde also highlighting the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race at Monza as an “all or nothing” race that he had to win and did win by 2 seconds to help him become the 2020 Champion.

The Flying Dutchman who also won the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2020 and took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans, exclusively revealed about how he worked with his team in finding a motto. Ten Voorde’s motto, ‘Be The Greatest World Class Driver You Can Be On And Off The Track’. A motto that has helped Ten Voorde to work and improve himself and his schedule before and during a race weekend throughout the 2020 season.

A fan of the Porsche GT2RS because of the power of the car, Ten Voorde also revealed during the PorscheSport podcast, his experience of both Porsche Race Cars and Road Cars as well as the Porsche Driving Experience highlighting his favoured cars as the Porsche GTR3, GT2RS, the Porsche 9902 and the GT4 which the Flying Dutchman recommended for any budding race drivers, to start with the GT4 as it is a “great car to learn” in.

Also speaking about his plans on the PorscheSport podcast, Larry Ten Voorde spoke about his ambition to race in DTM - a vision that Ten Voorde has had since 2013, comparing the series to cup car driving.

But now determined more than ever, the Flying Dutchman does not want to just win the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup again but dominate. Fans can look forward to watching Larry Ten Voorde drive the new Porsche 911 Generation 2 car and for the 2021 season to start from the 20th- 23rd May in Monaco.
