Porsche Carrera Cup Asia crowns champions in thrilling Singapore Finale
Porsche Carrera Cup Asia brought its 2025 season to an end at the stunning Marina Bay Circuit in style, crowning champions after two hard fought races on the support bill of the Singapore Grand Prix. The venue has been a favourite of Porsche Carrera Cup Asia drivers, teams and fans, with the championship racing there regularly since the first event in 2008.
After Dylan Pereira and Bao Jinlong clinched the overall and Pro-Am titles in the previous round at Mandalika, eyes were on the fights for Am and Masters class championships, with Henry Kwong and Adrian D’Silva coming out on top. Pereira continued his domination on Saturday, starting on pole in the #7 Team Shanghai Yonda BWT car and roaring away from the field from the off.
Team Jebsen’s Rodrigo Dias Almeida had a tough start, being spun around by Dylan O’Keeffe at Turn 1, with the TORO Racing driver receiving a penalty for the contact. Phantom Global Racing’s Dylan Yip managed to get past debutant Bayley Hall for second in the opening stages, but the Australian would put pressure on in the coming laps, eventually moving his EBM machine back in front to clinch a strong runners-up position behind Pereira.
A penalty for a jump start dropped Yip down to sixth, with Team WeTrade x PGR’s Josh Rowledge taking third, marking his first top-three finish of the season. In the Pro-Am category, Bao continued his excellent form for BWT Phanton Global Racing, keeping in touch with the back end of the Pro class and securing yet another Pro-Am win. He was joined on the podium by debutant Matthew Belford, who impressively raced to second for Bergwerk Motorsport, and OpenRoad Racing’s Francis Tjia.
With Munkong Sathienthirakul absent, it looked like being a shootout for the Am title between the Kwong brothers, Henry and Eric. Henry brought a four-point advantage into the event, which he would extend by clinching victory for TRIPLE ACE RACING, narrowly ahead of Eric’s Bergwerk Motorsport machine. Hu Bo would come home to earn third, as he maintained his consistently strong season for 610 Racing.
In the Masters class, penalties for EBM’s Adrian D’Silva dropped the Malaysian to third, meaning that Christian Chia took victory for OpenRoad Racing, keeping his title hopes alive. John Shen would take second for Modena Motorsports, although the title battle was now a two-way fight. Sunday marked the 14th and final round of the 2025 championship, and it was Pereira who again pulled away from pole position, with Rowledge making a superb move into Turn 1 to rocket up to second. This kicked off a race-long battle for the podium as Pereira escaped for his 11th win of the year, also clinching the Street Cup. Rowledge defended solidly against O’Keeffe and Hall for several laps, before running wide and losing two positions in one lap.
TORO Racing’s Enzo Trulli was also close behind, although Rowledge recovered to defend fourth, as Australian duo O’Keeffe and Hall clinched second and third. Meanwhile, home hero Danial Nielsen Frost completed a strong maiden weekend in the championship, with the Singaporean showing good pace to battle with the series regulars and earn sixth and eighth in the two races.
Belford completed a superb debut weekend with ninth overall and Pro-Am victory, after Bao ran wide and hit the wall in the latter part of the race, proving how unforgiving the Marina Bay Circuit can be. Dean Cook originally crossed the line first, but a penalty for a false start dropped him to second for Z.SPEED Motorsport, as Li Chao ended his season in third for Team Betterlife. Despite the incident, Bao took the Street Cup title, earning him a Porsche VIP experience at next year’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
In the Am class, second would be enough for Henry Kwong to clinch the title, and that’s exactly what transpired, as he followed brother Eric home to secure his second Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Am championship, having also claimed the crown in 2022. Hu again claimed third after another solid performance, as Henry also took the Street Cup. Victory for Chia in the Masters class completed a perfect weekend, although second for D’Silva was enough for the EBM man to clinch the first ever Masters title, while Jacky Wu took third for Porsche Own Retail 69 Team.
There was some consolation for Chia, as four wins from four in Bangsaen and Singapore earned him the Masters Street Cup title. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will host its annual Talent Pool Assessment Test on 3-5 November at Sepang International Circuit, with 12 drivers from a host of applicants to take part. The test will be the first step towards forming the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool.
Dylan Pereira, Team Shanghai Yonda BWT: “I’m delighted to finish the season in the best possible way with two victories. Even if it’s looked simple from the outside, we’ve had plenty of challenges this year but the team has always done a great job with the car to give me such a great opportunity to win so many races. I’m delighted with my performance and that of the team and hopefully we can come back and be strong again next year.”
Matthew Belford, Bergwerk Motorsport: “I loved racing here in Singapore, it was unlucky for Bao today but I had a great battle with Dean out there. He had a penalty which allowed me to win, so I guess it was my day! I had an amazing time, the track was awesome and a huge thanks to the team for having me.”
Erik Kwong, Bergwerk Motorsport: “Finishing the season in P1 is a great feeling. I was excited for this one and ready to go after the track dried. I had a good start and pushed to the end to clinch the win. Congrats to Henry for winning the championship, I’m really happy for him and looking forward to being back.
” Christian Chia, OpenRoad Racing: “It was great to be back in Singapore for the season finale and it didn’t disappoint! We had good pace all weekend and I’m happy with my performance, even if the championship slipped away to Adrian. Congratulations to him and thanks to Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for yet another exciting season.”
Alexandre Imperatori, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Manager: “A great season has come to a thrilling end here in Singapore, with champions crowned in the Am and Masters category. It’s always a pleasure to come to Singapore and it’s amazing to continue our history at this fantastic track. Thanks to all of our drivers, teams, partners and fans for the 2025 season, and we can’t wait to be back on track in 2026.”
