GT World Challenge Asia
Following events in Malaysia and Indonesia, the series now heads to Thailand for Rounds 5-6, tackling the Buriram-based Chang International Circuit for the third year in succession. The event is the final one of the campaign in South-East Asia, with two visits to Japan leading into the season-ending round in China.
Reigning drivers’ champions Bob Yuan and Leo Ye picked up their second win of the season during the Mandalika opener as they moved into the lead of this year’s championship. Origine Motorsport’s endeavour for a third consecutive teams’ title was further aided by Lu Wei and Alessio Picariello securing victory in Sunday’s event, with the Belgian swapping out for fellow Porsche driver Bastian Buus this weekend. The squad’s #86 entry of Kerong Li and Andres Fjordbach also clinched second in the Silver-Am class, as the Chinese outfit looks to replicate its success in Buriram.
Absolute Racing duo Li Xuanyu and Daniel Lu Wenlong took a double Silver-Am points finish on the island of Lombok, as they aim to fight their way up the rankings in the #321 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Wang Zhongwei continues with Patrick Pilet in the #911 entry after the pair scored Pro-Am points last time out.
The Phantom Global Racing #37 crew of Anthony Liu and Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Dorian Boccolacci battled their way onto the podium on both days in Indonesia, moving them up to second in the Drivers’ Standings. Chris Chia and Adderly Fong earned a first top three finish in the Silver-Am class, with these results also helping the squad to second in the Teams’ Championship.
Porsche Centre Okazaki’s Kiyoshi Uchiyama and Tsubasa Kondo scored more valuable points in the Silver-Am category and will aim to take a positive result into the squad’s home races in Japan, which follow this weekend’s action.
In the #10 Porsche 911 GT3 R for GTO Racing, Brian Lee and Nico Menzel once again have their sights set on the Pro-Am top ten, after scoring class points in the opening race at Mandalika.
Han Min-Kwan took a Silver-Am third place for Vollgas Motorsports during the second event in Lombok alongside Daan Arrow, and the Dutchman will continue for the Korean outfit, aiming for more trips to the rostrum.
AMAC Motorsport kept up their 100% Am class podium scoring record in 2025 in Mandalika, with Andrew Macpherson and Ben Porter adding a third and second.
Chang International Circuit, which is an FIA Grade 1 track measuring 4.54-kilometres, provides overtaking opportunities into Turns 1 and 3, with a more technical final part of the lap making up an excellent all-round challenge. The drivers will be tested with hot temperatures, high humidity and potential heavy rain throughout.

That being said the level of competition is extremely high and so the goal is to remain focused. With heavy rain and scorching heat in the weather forecast this weekend, we’re sure it will be a hard fight, but one we are committed to.
