Prince Carl Philip prepares for his eleventh season in Carrera Cup
Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia can once again present Prince Carl Philip as one of the drivers in Sweden's leading racing championship. "I'm looking forward to new starts in the Porsche Carrera Cup with Porsche Experience Racing. This will be my eleventh season in the championship since my debut in 2008," says Prince Carl Philip.
Prince Carl Philip will be the driver with by far the most experience of the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia in this year's starting field. You probably remember that the prince passed 100 starts in connection with the Kanonloppet at Gelleråsen Arena in Karlskoga last year. In total, he has driven 103 races in the championship, which puts him fifth on the list of drivers who have participated in the most heats since the start of the championship in 2004.
During the 2025 season, Prince Carl Philip ran the competition at Gelleråsen Arena and the final at Mantorp Park. On both occasions, he managed to capture podiums in the championship's Pro Am category, the class for the older drivers on the grid. The Prince finished third both in the opening race in Karlskoga and in the final heat at Mantorp Park. His performance in the latter heat was crucial for the fight for the Pro Am title, which was eventually conquered by Albin Wärnelöv.
Both competitions in 2025 were eventful for Prince Carl Philip. In connection with Kanonloppet, he had the opportunity to test drive a Williams Formula 1 car and at Mantorp Park he tested the iconic Porsche 962 C.
"It's a boyhood dream come true. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity," said the prince after the show lap with one of Porsche's and history's most successful racing cars.
Prince Carl Philip has completed half of this year's competitions. He will run the premiere in Anderstorp 8-9 May, Kanonloppet in Karlskoga 14-15 August and the final at Mantorp Park 18-19 September.
Prince Carl Philip will also take part in the championship's pre-season test at Gelleråsen Arena on 21-22 April.
"We are of course very happy and proud that Prince Carl Philip has chosen to continue competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia 2026. In addition to being an experienced and successful racing driver, the prince is also a fantastic ambassador for Swedish motorsport," says Anders Boqvist, Brand Manager for Porsche Sweden.
