Double title victory for Proton Huber Competition

At the 24h Barcelona (September 26th to 28th), the finale of the Michelin 24h Series European Series, Proton Huber Competition crowned a successful 2025 season on the international endurance racing scene with a total of two titles.

The 2025 season of the Michelin 24h Series European Series came to an end in Barcelona. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosted the only 24-hour race of the European season in the series organized by the Dutch Creventic organization. Proton Huber Competition competed with a Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Jörg Dreisow, Manuel Lauck, Klaus Bachler, and Constantin Dressler.

The GT3 division of the Bavarian Porsche team enjoyed a successful season in the endurance championship. In Misano and Le Castellet, the team clinched class victories in the GT3 Pro-Am class and also celebrated overall victory on the circuit in southern France. This meant that the team from Hofkirchen traveled to Barcelona for the season finale as the leader in the category and in the overall GT3 standings.

In the final race on the Formula 1 circuit just outside the Spanish metropolis, the Proton Huber Competition Porsche drove a very tactical race, as the team had declared winning the title as its main goal. By the halfway point of the race, the team had already collected many points with second place in the overall standings and first place in its class. After 24 hours, Klaus Bachler, considered one of the fastest Porsche drivers in the world, crossed the finish line in fourth place. Proton Huber Competition thus celebrated its third consecutive class victory in the GT3 Pro-Am class.

Thanks to its strong result in the final, Proton Huber Competition had two reasons to celebrate: With Jörg Dreisow, Manuel Lauck, and Klaus Bachler, who all competed in all five races of the season, the team won both the GT3 overall standings and the title in the GT3 Pro-Am class.

“The 24h Barcelona went very well for us. Our goal was to win the title, so we were very strategic,” explained Porsche contracted driver Klaus Bachler after the race. "We were able to score a lot of points with second place after twelve hours, which was a big step towards the championship. Our car worked great and we didn't have any technical problems. Many thanks to the entire team and especially to Jörg, who put the whole program together. He prepared very well for the race, knew it would be tough, and spent over four hours in the car. Winning the championship in both the overall standings and the class is the perfect way to end a really cool year."

Jörg Dreisow was emotional after winning the double title. He remembered long-time team member Gerhard Freundorfer, who had been leading the project until his tragic accident in the paddock at the Barcelona circuit in April 2024: “These titles are not only the absolute highlight of my career as a racing driver. I also associate them with people like Gerhard, especially here in Barcelona. As a racer, you couldn't wish for anything
