Falken Motorsports finishes on the podium again in the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series
After two victories at the season opener, Falken Motorsports has impressively confirmed its reputation as a top team on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife: At the third round of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series – the 56th Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy – Morris Schuring, awarded "Driver of the Day", and Sven Müller secured third place. Tim Heinemann and Dennis Marschall completed the strong team result with fourth place in the second Falken Porsche.
Even more would have been possible in the four-hour race in the "Green Hell": technical bad luck and numerous caution phases in the morning qualifying prevented fast times, which is why the two turquoise blue Porsche 911 GT3 R had to settle for ninth and tenth place on the grid. An optimal starting position thus failed to materialize for the time being.
But already after the start, both cars showed the full potential of the Falken slick tyres: After the start, Morris Schuring in the Falken Porsche #3 and teammate Tim Heinemann in the Falken Porsche #4 slowly fought their way forward. After the second lap of the race, the duo, who drove over the legendary Nordschleife in pairs for the second time this season, were already in sixth and seventh place. After the sixth lap, the scheduled pit stop followed and the change to Sven Müller and Dennis Marschall, who continued the catch-up race seamlessly.
At the second pit stop, both Falken Porsches had already fought their way into the top 5. In the second half of the race, the only 20-year-old Morris Schuring caused a sensation: In only his third Nordschleife race, he underlined his great talent with a courageous overtaking manoeuvre against the eventual winner. Although the team had to admit defeat again in the end due to a deviating pit strategy of the competitor, third place was secured.
After their successful start to the season, Sven Müller and Morris Schuring once again secure a place on the podium. After his impressive performance, Schuring was even the first GT3 driver ever to be named "Driver of the Day" – a title that is awarded after each race by the Nürburgring Endurance Interest Group (ILN). Tim Heinemann and Dennis Marschall complete the strong team result with a fourth place in the overall standings.
In two weeks, the next highlight awaits: The ADAC 24h Qualifiers are considered a dress rehearsal for the prestigious 24-hour race at the Nürburgring – and also count towards the classification of the ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series. Another chance for Falken Motorsports to clinch the third overall victory of the year.
