Porsche Benelux series all kicked of their season in May
The 2025 Porsche one-make season in the Benelux region has kicked off with thrilling action across all three championships: the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, and the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. From the legendary Spa-Francorchamps to the fast dunes of Zandvoort and the technical layout of Zolder, the new season has already delivered first-class racing, packed grids and impressive performances. D’Ieteren Luxury Performance has firmly positioned itself as one of the top teams to watch, with victories in two out of three competitions.
Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux – Home Glory for Baguette
The opening round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux took place during the FIA WEC weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, in front of almost 100 000 passionate racing fans. Swedish driver Robin Knutsson (NGT Racing) secured his maiden win in Race 1 after a brilliant pole-to-flag drive under heavy pressure from Jaap van Lagen (Team RaceArt) and his team-mate Bertrand Baguette. The second race was a celebration of Belgian talent, with Bertrand Baguette claiming an emotional victory for D’Ieteren Luxury Performance on home soil, sending the grandstands into raptures just hours before the FIA WEC main event.
In the ROOKIE class, Milan Marczak (RedAnt Racing) was unmatched with two dominant wins, while the PRO-AM honours were split between Jules Grouwels (Team RaceArt) and Henri Tuomaala (Team Koiranen). The championship standings remain tight, with Van Lagen, Knutsson and Nick Ho (PG Motorsport) separated by just two points. The next round takes place at Circuit Zandvoort on 7–8 June during the DTM weekend, where the momentum could shift again.
Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux – New Format, High Drama
Zandvoort welcomed the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux with a new triple-sprint format for the rounds in Zandvoort: three 30-minute races packed into one intense day. The event featured a healthy mix of young talents and gentleman drivers and delivered three different winners in the 911 GT3 Cup class: Dino van der Geest (Team GP Elite), Niels Troost (Team GP Elite), and Lennart Hiemstra (MDM Motorsport). Each race was decided by mere seconds, reflecting the evenly matched nature of the field.
In GT4RS, Arthur Peters (SRT) took victory in race 1 and 2, while Belle Rappange (Team GP Elite) did it in the last race of the day, while Menno van de Grijspaarde (Team GP Elite) secured three runner-up finishes — underlining the consistency required for a title challenge. The paddock atmosphere was a highlight too, with respect between drivers matching the intensity on track. Round 2 will be held on Wednesday 9 July at TT Circuit Assen, a fan-favourite venue that promises even more side-by-side racing.
Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux – Double Success for D’Ieteren Luxury Performance
The season opener of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux — contested within the Belcar Endurance Championship — saw D’Ieteren Luxury Performance by NGT deliver a commanding victory at Circuit Zolder. Glenn Van Parijs, Cédric Wauters and Robin Knutsson drove a measured yet aggressive race to bring their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 - home first after 125 minutes of racing. They held off two strong Belgium Racing entries, ensuring an all-Porsche, all-Belgian podium.
Behind the top three, MM Racing and Russell Racing by ART showed excellent pace, while VR Racing by NGT used the race as key preparation for the 24 Hours of Zolder. In the GT Sport category, JDK by NGT claimed a silver medal with their Porsche Cayman GT4 RS.
The next two rounds take place at Spa-Francorchamps on 31 May–1 June and 4–5 July, offering competitors more high-speed action on one of the world’s most iconic tracks.
