Rutronik Racing in double title fight in Barcelona

At the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup season finale, Rutronik Racing will be fighting for the Endurance Cup title and the overall championship.

The grand season finale of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will take place in Barcelona. A three-hour Endurance Cup race will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. No fewer than 60 GT3 cars have been entered for the race, including two Porsche 911 GT3 R from Rutronik Racing.

The three Porsche contracted drivers Sven Müller, Patric Niederhauser and Alessio Picariello will share the team's top car. Antares Au, Loek Hartog and the newly crowned DTM rookie champion Morris Schuring will compete in the Bronze Cup car.

At the finale in Barcelona, the #96 trio will be fighting for two titles. In the Endurance Cup standings, Müller, Niederhauser and Picariello are in second place, just five points behind the leaders. Müller and Niederhauser are also in third place in the combined Endurance Cup and Sprint Cup standings. The drivers are twelve points behind the leaders. The Bronze Cup team is seventh in their standings.

Rutronik Racing travels to Barcelona with fond memories. Last year, Sven Müller and Patric Niederhauser secured Rutronik Racing's first Porsche victory there and the first victory for a Porsche in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup. The team also clinched victory in the Bronze Cup on the Spanish GP circuit last year.

The three-hour race will start on Sunday at 15:00 o´clock, preceded by the three-part qualifying session in the morning from 10:25 o´clock. Both sessions can be followed on the official SRO livestream, which is available in German and English, among other languages. The two practice sessions on Saturday will also be streamed worldwide on YouTube.

Klaus Graf, Rutronik Racing team boss: "We are travelling to Barcelona for the final race of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season full of anticipation. We can already look back on a very successful season in the Endurance Cup. We have always been successful in Barcelona in recent years, and I expect Rutronik Racing to perform well again this year. If we could finish on the podium with both cars, it would be a great finale for the team and our partners. In the battle for the titles, we will certainly need that little bit of racing luck in what is an extremely competitive field.‘

Alessio Picariello, Porsche 911 GT3 R #96: ’Being in a position to fight for a championship is always something special. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved together as a team so far. We worked well all together and there’s one more to go. We’ll give absolutely everything until the very last corner to bring the endurance cup and the overall title back home.‘

Morris Schuring, Porsche 911 GT3 R #97: ’I am looking forward to the GT World Challenge Europe season finale in Barcelona. I think Barcelona is a great place to end the season. We were in good form at the Nürburgring, which we would like to take with us to the final. I would like to clinch a victory with Antarers and Loek after not driving with them at Monza and end the season on a high. The same goes for our Pro car, where I hope they can clinch the title."
