Super GT
seven x seven Racing completed the opening weekend of the 2026 Super GT season at Okayama International Circuit, as the squad scored GT300 class points to kick off its second year in Japan’s most competitive GT series. Saturday’s qualifying saw the pair of Kiyoto Fujinami and Sven Müller miss out on advancing to Q2 by just 0.069 seconds, meaning the #666 Porsche 911 GT3 R lined up 17th for Sunday’s event. Fujinami took the wheel at the start, making solid early progress in the three-hour enduro, before handing over to Müller on Lap 30.
The German driver, who was making his first Super GT appearance since 2018, continued this positive trajectory as the team crossed the line in 12th, picking up four points to start the new campaign. Super GT now heads to Shizuoka Prefecture to tackle Fuji Speedway on 3-4 May. Kiyoto Fujinami, seven x seven Racing: “It was a tough weekend as we struggled with pace throughout, which was very different to our experience in Pre-Season Testing. We still managed to move up through the field in the event and score points, but we want to be fighting at the front.
Looking ahead to Fuji, we’ll make some adjustments and keep pushing to improve our position in the championship.” Sven Müller, seven x seven Racing: “It was great to be back competing in Super GT and it was nice to work with the team again as well as experiencing the amazing and unique atmosphere created by the Japanese fans. The car felt good, but overtaking is so difficult here so we could ultimately only manage P12 in the GT300 class.
We’ll look to take the positives from this event and aim to achieve a better result next time out in Fuji.” Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Porsche Carrera Cup Asia put on a great show at Zhuhai International Circuit as the championship returned to race at the track for the first time since 2021.
Team Porsche Malaysia’s Naquib Azlan once again delivered an impressive performance to claim pole position for both races. However, he would be overtaken at the beginning of Saturday’s event by Porsche Junior Marcus Amand and Team Porsche New Zealand’s Marco Giltrap.
The trio engaged in an excellent battle throughout the race which saw Amand take his first Porsche Carrera Cup Asia win of 2026, as Giltrap claimed second and Wetrade X Phantom Global’s Rodrigo Dias Almedia third, after Azlan spun attempting to overtake. Wang Zhongwei secured Pro-Am victory for Origine Motorsport, while 610 Racing earned an impressive 1 2 in the Am category, headed by Roy Tang ahead of Cao Qikuan. Porsche Own Retail 69 Team’s Jacky Wu followed up his success in Shanghai with another great performance to clinch the Masters honours. Sunday’s race got off to an action-packed start as Amand moved past Azlan, but Giltrap would misjudge his braking point heading down to Turn 1, leading to contact between the three drivers as well as Origine Motorsport’s Ling Kang.
This allowed Absolute Racing’s Alexander Tauscher into the lead and he controlled the rest of the event to take victory, with Dias Almedia coming second. Several cars were involved in the battle for third, however it was Amand who delivered an incredible recovery drive to claim the final spot on the podium. Origine Motorsport’s Lu Wei bounced back from a difficult Saturday to earn the Pro-Am win, while Tang crossed the line first in the Am-class.
Wu looked on his way to another Masters success but found the gravel, forcing him to retire and allowed John Shen to secure his second victory of the season for Modena Motorsports. Porsche Carrera Cup Asia returns to action on 8-10 May as it takes on its first event outside of China this season at Fuji Speedway in Japan.

While it wasn’t the ideal start to the campaign, the team managed to score some important points in the first event of 2026. We know with this line-up of Kiyoto and Sven as well as the excellent work of the crew, that they will be in fighting form again at Fuji Speedway next month. “
Porsche Carrera Cup Asia delivered more exciting moments and close action as the record-breaking grid went racing at Zhuhai International Circuit for the first time in five years.
